Original Volumes

The manga ran for 52 chapters (not including side stories) in Nakayoshi Magazine from 1991-97, and was published by Kodansha in 18 tankoubon volumes.

Renewal Comics

In 2003, the BSSM manga was republished in a larger, deluxe format, with retouched artwork and completely new cover art. (These are commonly known as the renewal comics.) Several large chapters were split, increasing the total chapters to 60 (from 52), and the chapters themselves were condensed down from 18 volumes into 12, with two additional volumes containing short stories and one-shots, published in Run Run Magazine.
