Japanese DVD Covers & Box Artwork

To commemorate the release of the BSSM anime on DVD in Japan, Takeuchi Naoko took the original LD cover art and retouched it, forming a hybrid anime/manga style of artwork that (imho) is simply fabulous. The last (first press) disc(s) of each season includes a box to hold all the season's discs, featuring completely new artwork.

Enjoy these scans, but please credit this site if you use them, as all are my own scan work. (And these sets are costly and difficult to obtain.) Scans average 500 Kb in size.

Why do these have dark backgrounds?
While the other covers have foil in the titles and accents, the S season DVD covers have solid foil/metallic backgrounds, which unfortunately scan very dark. The rich metallic colors present in these covers aren't well captured, even rescanned on a high-end scanner. My apologies for this, but hopefully this explains why they look the way they do.
